Global Government Fintech today announces the launch of the Global Government FinTech Lab – an in-person event to bring together senior public servants exploring the opportunities created by fintech.

As governments’ interest and investment in fintech solutions are accelerating, public authorities are increasingly looking to champion their fintech industries and encourage fintech solutions.

Global Government Fintech’s event, which is being run in partnership with the government of Estonia, brings together those charged with exploring and implementing fintech solutions.

The Lab, which will be held in Estonia’s capital Tallinn on Wednesday 1 June 2022, will focus on some of the most pressing challenges and opportunities for those working in central government and government agencies.

The one-day event is free to attend for all public servants.

Bringing together fintech explorers

The Lab’s agenda will feature keynote speeches and panels addressing questions such as:

Where are the big opportunities for fintech solutions to help governments and public authorities?
How can government departments / public authorities ‘get organised’ to fully understand and invest in fintech solutions?
How can fintech solutions help governments tackle fraud, error and debt, and also payments to/from government?
How could central bank digital currencies help deliver public good?
How can public authorities best spur private-sector fintech growth?

“Estonia is rightly well known as a pioneer in digital public services so there could be no better host nation for this inaugural event,” said Global Government Fintech editor Ian Hall.

“We’re looking forward to bringing together those exploring the opportunities and challenges that fintech creates for public authorities to discuss the approaches that different governments and authorities are taking.”

The Lab takes place at the Hilton Tallinn Park Hotel. Further information can be found on the Global Government Fintech Lab webpage.
